The Eagle has Landed.....Late!
The day started at 9:00am in Newcastle with the promise of a short flight to London Heathrow.....promise being the operative word, 45 minutes late which left me precious little shopping time in Heathrow. A short Bus ride to Terminal 4 left me ready to join the next leg of my flight to Chicago.
The Chicago flight didn't start well with us waiting for an hour because of missing crew, eventually they arrived and we set off on the runway, only to sit waiting again. After 4-Hours of waiting, the 'technical fault' was resolved and we were able to leave. I had visions of the 'Final Destination' film flashing before my eyes and bits of the aircraft starting to fall off.
Not a good start, nearly 5 hours of delays and I had just set-off. We arrived in Chicago and were Specially selected for a security check. After being intimately searched (Gloves were involved), I was free to go - caught some pasta and then set off onto the next leg from Chicago to Austin.
Finally a flight that took off on time, albeit at 9pm US time! By the time we landed, I was knackered and we had to wait on the runway for a plane to move!! Bloody hell, how many more delays can i take.
Anyway, a $30 cab ride to the hotel saw us arrive at nearly 1am, having been awake for way over 24 hours and taken nearly all forms of transport - Car, Bus, Train, Plane! Just needed to cycle somewhere and cross water to complete it.
Anyway, here and ready to go for a 9am meeting the following day
